Art Night 2018: Food & Drink

July 4th, 2018 | by Jennifer Edwards

Art Night 2018: Food & Drink

Art Night is London’s largest free contemporary arts festival, transforming the city annually for one unforgettable night.

We're very excited to be bringing Art Night south of the river for the very first time, and to South Bank. The art trail continues the whole way along the river up towards Vauxhall and Nine Elms, with lots of free art installations along the way in surprising and fascinating locations. The event lasts all night long, and into the early hours of Sunday morning, so make sure you check out what's happening food and drink wise to keep the hunger pangs at bay.

South Bank's restaurants, bars and cafe's are putting together quite an array, check it out below.

  • BOMPAS & PARR Floating Arts Bar

This year, Art Night and MBNA Thames Clippers have created a bespoke nocturnal river bus service, running on a half hour loop from 7 pm until 4 am, stopping at London Eye (Waterloo) Pier, St George Wharf (Vauxhall) Pier and Battersea Power Station Pier.

As well as travelling in style and comfort to Art Night events, food art maestros Bompas & Parr will be entertaining travellers with their special "ode to the potato" event: The Secret Life of the Potato. They'll be dispensing high-starch libations and snacks on the Thames' only potato party-boat!

Find out more about it HERE.

In honour of Art Night 2018, award-winning Pan-Asian restaurant and Latin bar Chino Latino, located within Park Plaza Riverbank London by Albert Embankment, are creating the ultimate bespoke, immersive dining experience inspired by renowned  Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, widely acknowledged as one of the most important living artists from Japan.

On Friday 6th July, for one night only, Group Executive Chef Werner Seebach and his team will create an exclusive 5-course tasting menu, which will conclude with diners being whisked to the Executive Lounge on the 12th floor to experience an immersive dessert room with floor-to-ceiling views of the River Thames. The entire menu will be influenced by Kusama’s work, using Japanese ingredients and dishes referencing her most influential work.

The new cocktail Art Night is inspired by the this year’s Art Night 2018 route along the Thames.
