The Birch Bar in Theatre Square is a pop-up bar and café serving winter warmers and delicious seasonal treats throughout November and December, right up until 12th Night. Try the decadently rich organic hot chocolate, served either topped with marshmallows, or with a shot of a seasonal spirit – rum, cointreau or kahlua. Other delicious hot drinks include rum tea and hot spiced cider. The Birch Bar also sells a range of homemade baked treats. Pretzels, mince pies and all sorts of cakes are on offer, freshly made in the National Theatre Kitchens every day.

Building on its success as one of London’s chicest Pan-Asian restaurants, Chino Latino has been given two prestigious rosettes from the AA Guide. Chino Latino, which is located in Park Plaza Riverbank, will not be resting on its laurels and has announced a flurry of new dishes. In total 14 new dishes have been added to the menu as well as tasting menus, which include many of the new plates, starting from £35 per person (based on four sharing). The new menu is available now for lunch from 12 – 2pm Monday to Friday and for dinner 6 – 10.30pm Monday to Saturday, 6 – 10pm Sunday.

On Wednesday 14 September 2011, the OXO Tower Restaurant, Bar & Brasserie celebrates its 15th birthday. In early August, they will be releasing a limited edition book revealing some of the secrets behind what makes OXO tick. The book will not be on sale but you are advised to look out for special copies when you visit OXO over the summer.
Plans for the main event in September are still being finalised but if you would like to be in on the action, OXO are taking bookings for the evening of the anniversary itself. There are bound to be a few exciting surprises for those who choose to dine on the special night!
