War Horse

Marking the centenary of Armistice Day, the critically acclaimed and widely revered War Horse returns to the National Theatre just over a decade after its NT debut.
Based on the novel by Michael Morpurgo and adapted by Nick Stafford, this compelling drama which has been seen by over seven million people across 11 countries features the wondrous life-size horses created by South Africa’s award winning Handspring Puppet Company.

With the outbreak of World War One, War Horse follows the remarkable journey of Albert and Joey: an owner and his beloved horse who are forced apart after Joey is sold to the cavalry and shipped off to France.
